Important Information for Events only

A grant‑funded event is an activity supported through grant funding that attracts over 100 attendees and may be delivered as a one‑off occasion or as part of a series.

Receiving a grant doesn’t automatically mean that your event is approved or that a City venue is booked. If you’re planning an event, you’ll still need to follow the City of Stirling’s Event Application and Approvals process, meet all relevant local laws, and submit a venue booking separately.

The event approval process is completely separate from the grant application process.
Event applications must be lodged at least 8 weeks before your event, even if you haven’t yet received your grant outcome.

Before applying for a grant, please consider whether you’ll be able to meet all event requirements and timeframes. If an event does not receive approval, any funding allocated to that part of the project may need to be returned.

To help your application go smoothly, we encourage you to discuss your event with a City Events Officer. They can help you understand the requirements, possible costs, and anything else you might need to consider before applying.

Grant Funding for Events Only

Applicants are encouraged to seek grant funding and support from multiple sources. In general, the City will not contribute more than 50% of the total event budget value.

Each application is assessed on a case-by-case basis and any funding amount awarded will be based on the following:

  • Small scale events - up to $5,000 total package
  • Medium scale events- up to $20,000 total package
  • Large scale events - over $20,001 total package ( noting this type will require council approval with an outcome notification period of 50 business days)

Please find further information about the classification of each type of event here,  under Vibrant Communities - Funding available
